On Friday, April 11 in the cafeteria at Columbus Community High School, Wildcat Martha Anaya signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.
Craig Carlson, head coach of the Tritons, said of Anaya “she handles the ball really well and we had a good feeling about her. We lost both of our point guards to injuries last season and were still very successful, but you can’t have enough point guards.”
Speaking of the vacancy that Anaya will leave for the Wildcats, Columbus Community girls’ basketball head coach Kasey Keltner said “She has meant a lot to our program and school. She is very well-liked and is a great person. We will miss how great of a person she is off the court more than anything.”
Anaya will be studying business and sociology.
