Zinio: the ultimate app for magazines
By Jenisa Hanson | Jul 29, 2013

I was so excited when Debbie told us that our library paired up with the Wellman and Kalona libraries to get online access to Zinio. Zinio is the world’s largest newsstand. Zinio is the ultimate app for magazine lovers, with digital magazines for E-Readers,iPads, iPhones, Android, and Mac and PC users. Magazines, including back-issues, are received through the library's subscriptions, with new issues downloading automatically. Zinio is accessible in 33 languages!

You are able to enjoy free issues of Martha Stewart Living, Rolling Stones, US Weekly, News Week, National Geographic, Prevention, and Viv Magazine. Zinio has a large assortment of magazines that you can purchase single issues or a subscription.

You will need to register twice for Zinio, once with Recorded Books and then again with Zinio. To do so, follow the link on the library Web page. There is a link to Zinio on the main page or the digital collections page. After you log in you will need to download the Zinio app to the device of your liking. Download the Zinio app by clicking on the link on the bottom of the page that correlates with the device you are using. If you are having trouble downloading Zinio make sure your security settings do not block downloads from online sources. Otherwise downloading Zinio is really easy. Then click on the magazine you would like to download, open your zinio app, click on the picture that looks like an open book, download your magazine, and enjoy!

I really like this app. It is easy to use and the newest issues can be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home! If you have any questions about Zinio or need help navigating it, feel free to call or stop by the library. The staff would love to help.

Don’t miss out on the fun of Dog Day of Summer! Here is how you can get involved. Ten of our furry friends are hiding out in some of the shops around the square. Your mission is to find the hidden dog in each store. Stop by the library now to pick up your dog log. Turn in your completed dog log to the library by Aug. 13. You will be entered into a drawing for a special prize! It’s a fun way to support local businesses! Please contact the Washington Public Library with any questions.
