Audit report released

The Washington Community School District has the results from its audit report for the 2012-13 fiscal year
According to a press release from its auditor Nolte, Cornman, and Johnson P.C. in Newton, the school district total revenue was $22,500,583, which is a 4.3 percent decrease from the previous year.
Of this amount $8,236,007 came from local tax; $1,764,544 was from charges for services; $2,398,517 was from operating grants, contributions, and restricted interest; $90,960 of capital grants, contributions, and restricted interest; unrestricted grants of $9,970,458; unrestricted interest of $3,246; and other general revenues of $36,851.
Expenses totaled $21,421,298, which is a 3.62 percent increase from the previous year. This amount included $7,698,053 in regular instruction; $2,610,805 in special instruction; and $2,344,595 in other instruction, the press release said.
