Betty A. Stoutner, 96, of Keota, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Keota Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 23 at the United Church of Faith, Keota. Burial will be in Keota Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Powell Funeral Home, Keota. Memorials go to Keokuk County Hospice. Visit www.powellfuneralhomes.com for more information.

Betty was born April 20, 1921, in Washington to William, Jr. and Armorelle (McCreedy) Miller. She moved to Keota at age 10 and graduated from Keota High School. On July 2, 1940, Betty married Glenn Stoutner at the Methodist Parsonage in Keota. Betty helped on the farm while caring for their children. She worked as a CNA at Maplewood Manor, was a 4-H leader and member of the Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school for 13 years. Betty enjoyed working in her garden.

Survivors include four children: Glenda (Gene) Hammen of Wellman, Charlotte (Doug) Flander of Clive, Shirley Karr of Washington and Kenny Stoutner of Keota; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Miller of Keota. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn in 1994; and sister, Phyllis Lyle
