Joel Boatright of Fairfield celebrated his birthday on Dec. 1. The evening meal was provided at the home of Winifred Fritz in Brighton. Those present included her children, Mary Stecker with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield, and Tony Fritz of Brighton with friend Lynn of North Liberty.

Tim and Rita Berry with Isaac and Megan of Bates City, Mo., arrived at the home of her mother, Winifred Fritz, on Nov. 27.

Charles and Deb Fritz of Sigourney hosted a Thanksgiving celebration dinner at their home the evening of Nov. 28. All of his siblings and families attended except his sister Lucy and Matt with sons. Also present was their mother, Winifred Fritz of Brighton.

Lucy Dietzman with Malcolm and Branden of Keosauqua visited Winifred Fritz and the Berrys on Nov. 29. The boys stayed overnight so the cousins could spend time together. The Berrys returned home on Nov. 30, taking the boys home.

Shirley Schooley of Brighton enjoyed the company of her sons and families for Thanksgiving Day: Mike and Cindi of Columbia, Mo., Marty and Mary and family of Vernon Hills, Ill., and Monte and family of Iowa City. Phone calls came from Shirley’s son and granddaughter, Murray and Felisha of Lake Havasu, Ariz. They also received a phone call from Mike and Cindi’s son Grant of Missoula, Mont.

Ginny Brinton spent Nov. 27-29 at the home of her brother, Fritz and Nancy Gowey in Milan, Ill.

Donna Guy of Brighton held a Thanksgiving celebration at her home on Dec. 1. Those attending were her children and families. They included Deb and Dean Greiner of Pleasant Plain, Angie of Iowa City and Matt with Clayton of Fairfield, and Danny and Cindi Guy with Adam and Andy of Brighton.

Donna Guy participated in the Arts and Crafts Show held recently at the Halcyon House in Washington.

Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met on Dec. 3 at the home of Louise Frakes. Seventeen members were present for this social meeting. After a meal, the members sang Christmas carols and had a gift exchange. Their next meeting will be held in late February.

The Krony Krew Bridge Club met at the home of Phyllis Scheeler on Dec. 4. Prizes were awarded to Phyllis Scheeler, Shirley Schooley and Kathryn Dickinson. Shirley Schooley will host the Dec. 18 meeting at her home.
