Pat Remington met her daughter Angela and Tony Garmoe with Christopher, of Mount Pleasant, on Dec. 10 in Olds. They dined at the Riverside Casino before going shopping in Iowa City. They were celebrating Christopher’s and Pat’s birthdays.

Coray Smith, of Minnesota, has been visiting his grandmother, Caryl Smith, since Dec. 7. He has been deer hunting with four friends of his Uncle Nelson’s in Brighton. The four friends arrived from Wisconsin.

Brighton’s First Church of God is opening its gym for adult walkers. It will be open from 6 to 8 a.m., Monday through Friday. This is the Brighton former school gym.

The Krony Krew Club met Dec. 13 at the home of Dorothy Miller. Bridge was played at two tables. Their next meeting has not been determined.

The Altar-Rosary meeting of St. Joseph-Mother Cabrini Church was held Dec. 12 in East Pleasant Plain. The group prepared the monthly committee program for the year.

Winifred Fritz enjoyed an overnight visit from her granddaughter Bridget Hollingsworth, of Fairfield. They attended Mass on Dec. 8. They were joined on Dec. 9 by Winifred’s daughter-in-law Lynn Fritz. They decorated Christmas cookies that afternoon.

Joining Winifred Fritz for the evening meal of Dec. 10 were her grandson, J.D. and Becky Hollingsworth, of Packwood, and his mother, Mary and Joel Boatright, of Fairfield.
