Love and Appreciation Sunday was held Feb. 4 in honor of Shirley Van Dee’s 10 years of service to St. Joseph and Mother Cabrini Parish. During the service, Father Damien presented Shirley with a certificate from Bishop Zinkula, of Davenport. Kathryn Dickinson told a little of the parish history and read a very fitting poem, “On the Sixth Day, God Created Woman.” The Altar and Rosary Committee gave Shirley a gift and 10 roses. Following the service, rolls and coffee were served in the hall, with a valentine theme. Valentine prizes were given out to members.

The Krony Krew Club met Feb. 28 at the home of Kathryn Dickinson. Bridge was played at one table.

Providing the evening meal of Feb. 25 at the home of Winifred Fritz were her children, Tony and Lynn Fritz, of Brighton, and Joel and Mary Boatright, of Fairfield. Also contributing were Mary’s children, Bridget Hollingsworth, of Fairfield, and J.D. and Becky Hollingsworth, of Packwood.

Winifred received a phone call from her brother, Herb Moeller, of Wever. Her granddaughter Megan Berry, a college student in Warrensburg, Missouri, also called on Feb. 27.
