Budding artist competition held

On Sunday, April 8, 2018, middle and high school art students competed in the Second Annual Budding Artists competition held at Art Domestique gallery in Washington. Sponsors were the Washington Lions Club and Art Domestique gallery. Students from Washington County and contiguous counties were invited to participate in a juried show devised to introduce students to the professional jurying process. Following published requirements, students entered their artwork as though in a professional art show. The winners were:2-Dimensional – first place, Rayna Buxton of Winfield-Mt. Union High School; second place, Jennifer Sanchez of Wapello High School; and third place, Delaney Miller of WACO High School.

3-Dimensional – first place, Madison Van Luyn of Wapello High School; second place, Rachel Burn of Wapello High School; and third place, Madison Van Luyn of Wapello High School.

Middle School 2-Dimensional – first place to Rachel Mattus of Lone Tree MS; second place, Kasen Bailey of Washington Middle School; and third place, Ally Rees of Washington Middle School.
