A Burlington man held in the Washington County Jail Tuesday was found to have a warrant from Henry County for multiple burglary charges.

According to the Washington County call log, Casey Thomas Leedham, 36, of Burlington, had Henry County warrants for second-degree burglary and two additional charges of third-degree burglary. He is being held on a $25,000 cash only bond. Both second and third degree burglaries are Class D felonies and can bring up to five years in prison.

According to the Mt. Pleasant News, Leedham was charged as a result of a monthlong investigation by the Henry County Sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office began its investigation Sept. 3 of an incident in the 1900 grid of 140th Street and a residential burglary in the 1000 grid of James Avenue. It was learned during the investigation that Leedham entered a barn in the 1900 grid of 140th Street and allegedly took a truck. He then allegedly drove to a residence in the 1000 grid of James Avenue and burglarized a residence, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Washington County Sheriff’s office assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s office with the investigation.
