Clarence Leo "Whimpy" Farrier, Jr., age 61, of Ainsworth, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at his residence after failing in health for several years.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Marty Frazer officiating. Calling hours will begin at noon Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday evening. Interment with military honors will take place at the Sandy Hook Cemetery in Brighton. A general memorial has been established. Clarence was born February 14, 1956 in Washington County, Iowa, the son of Clarence Sr. and Melba (Ingle) Farrier. He graduated from Washington High School in 1974. Clarence was united in marriage to Myra Showman on March 10, 1984 in South English, Iowa.

Clarence worked as a farm hand for Hal Colliver and John Berdo for many years. He served 12 years in the Army National Guard. Clarence volunteered at Old Threshers and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Myra Farrier of Ainsworth, Iowa; children: Misty Schipper and husband Richard of Hannibal, Mo.; Steven Farrier of Brighton, Iowa; Rebecca Pacha and husband Paul of Brighton, Iowa; Ashley Pacha and husband Steven of Washington, Iowa; Ana Farrier of Washington, Iowa; Christina Fredrick and husband Kenny of Manchester, Tenn.; Lauren McConnell and fiancé Jake of Wellman, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Sally Farrier of Haskins, Iowa; brother, Andy Farrier and wife Kathy of Wayland, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Shafer; grandson, Ryan Shafer; brother, Don Farrier, Sr.; sister, Jane Bailey; and sister, Alice Smith.
