The Chilcote Questers met Thursday, Sept. 7. at the Washington Public Library with 11 in attendance.

President Mary Levy called the meeting to order with roll call answered by one’s favorite barn style.

Minutes of the May meeting were read by Virginia McCurdy and approved on motion of Pat F., seconded Wendy Langan, including corrections.

The treasurer’s report was given and approved and a bill to Timeless Charm was approved for payment.

Mary passed out photos from the June trip to Amana.

Old business included information for the Fall Fling in Carlisle and Indianola Oct. 6 and 7.

Kathleen Almelien reported on State Day at the Outing Club in Davenport. She commented on the variety of displays and the awesome soufflé served for lunch.

Jackie Ross recapped the Amana trip and tour of Grapevine Antiques home and collections. She will mail a Thank You as well as the photos.

Discussion of postcards and greeting cards occurred. An exchange meeting of those items is being considered.

The group then crossed to the second floor area and viewed the Quester-donated bookshelves that now contain plaques indicating that donation. The shelves were donated with the intent they would be used only for Antique Reference Books.

Mary announced that the Oct. 5 meeting will be at her house and she is co-hostess and program as well. Halloween costumes can be worn to the meeting.

Pat Fritz served a summery dessert of fresh fruit and cookies. Marilyn Klise then presented a very interesting program focusing on the Barns of Van Buren County with a brochure and driving tour.
