Fleur-de-Lis Club members and guest, Kay LaMay, met on Thursday, Nov. 16, at the United Presbyterian Home at 1:30 p.m. for a tour of their new additions. The tour was led by Diana Rich who is their Marketing and Human Resource person. She handed out informational brochures to the group, which had pictures and much information about their new area. She then led members on a tour which included the new Wellness Fitness Center, Warm Water Therapy Pool area, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy area. In addition, the new 17 individual rooms for home members were toured and were tastefully decorated and very functional in a home-style living arrangement. Upon arriving at the Wellness Center, Amy Kleese, Wellness and Fitness Director, explained the use of many of the exercise and workout machines used for strength training to increase bone strength, muscle mass and heart rate. They have an indoor walking track and she and her staff will be teaching and holding group classes and individual workouts come Jan. 1, which will be open to the public for the adults age 55 and older with several membership options. It was a very interesting and educational tour.

Following the tour, members met at the Frontier Family Restaurant for their meeting and dessert. Lynda Jarrard was hostess and treated everyone to dessert and had made arrangements for the afternoon tour of the UP Home. Following dessert, Nancy Kimmel, president, conducted a short business meeting. The secretary and treasurer reports were read by Linda Birney. Roll call was answered with members telling of their favorite part of the tour. Members took up a collection and added to the voted on the amount from the club treasury to be given to HACAP instead of a Christmas gift exchange.

The next meeting will be Dec.14, at 12:30 p.m. with Theresa Hora for their annual salad luncheon. Note change of date. Bring salad, and table service will be provided.
