The regular meeting of the Green Acres 4-H Club was held at five o’clock on March 25. The meeting was called to order by President Ellie Bell. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Samantha Mellinger. Roll call was “What is your favorite snack?” It was answered by 13 members. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were both presented.

For old business, the club gained two new members Hannah Rogers and Paige Malichky. Members from the club discussed their experiences and opinions of the dodgeball tournament. The club was reminded that apparel orders are due on April 1. The group also discussed future involvement in volunteering at the concession stand for the Brighton Saddle Club. Sophie bell motioned for the club to volunteer on June 23. It was seconded by Ally Rees. The club also discussed a flower arranging workshop for the next meeting. One member shared her experiences at the recent project extravaganza. The pancake breakfast will be on April 28.

The club also explained and discussed FSQA/YQCA certification needed to show at the fair. One member also shared about her experiences on the Intermediate trip to Chicago.

For new business, the group discussed different project areas for the fair. Bailey Rees motioned to give $3 per member for the 4-H’ers for 4-H Campaign and it was seconded by Sophie Bell. A sign-up sheet for free 4-H shirts went around to every member which was sponsored by Federation Bank. The deadline to sign up for livestock in May 15. The 4-H plant science trip will be on April 30 and the deadline to sign up was by March 30. The club also reviewed the award applications. Darren Dennler proposed that idea of sending goody bag out to law enforcement for EMS week which is May 20 through the 26. The club showed great interest in the project and tabled the supplies list until the next meeting. The club also discussed updating the club pride board. It was decided that the whole club would work on it during one of the meetings. April 14, at 9 a.m., also will be the dog project kickoff meeting. Sophie Bell motioned to change the May meeting to the 20, because of multiple conflicts and it was seconded by Ally Rees. The meeting was adjourned and the 4-H Pledge was led by Ally Rees.

The next meeting will be on April 22. The hostess will be Zoey Dennler and presentations will be given by Bailey Rees, Ally Rees, Ellie Bell, Brynn Northup, Zoey Dennler and Audrey Smith. Minutes prepared and read by Baylee Stalder.
