Mary gave library handouts from Allie at the April meeting to Marj Lins and Linda Gonshorowski. Mary announced that we would update the library book list in the fall, as well as include any personal books members may wish to donate to the library.

There was no correspondence.

Phyllis Eisele reported that we will gather at her house June 23 for the club’s day trip to Mt. Vernon. A stop for breakfast will be at 4 Corners, then on to our destination for shopping and fun. Virginia & Wendy volunteered to drive. McCurdy will send a reminder e-mail June 18.

The Library Shelf Display is planned for December and will feature antique Christmas decorations.

The 18/19 program signup sheet was circulated again and is now mostly complete.

Discussion about submitting a $2000 mini-grant application occurred. Conger House has several needs including: re-doing of the outside garden, the west wing railing, a brick outhouse, and pioneer room improvements. The Ola Babcock statue project for Central Park, and the many needs of the Captains Table building were also mentioned. McCurdy moved, second Jackie Ross, to apply for a grant for the outdoor garden at Conger House. The motion carried with one nay.

Mary thanked Jackie for being both hostess and program and Phyllis for being co-hostess.

Jackie gave a very interesting program on old lighting, starting with tallow candles and progressing to wax candles and kerosene lamps.
