Columbus, IMS girls compete for conference crown

FORT MADISON – The 2014 Southeast Iowa Super Conference Girls’ Golf Tournament was held at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course on Monday, May 12.
Girls from Columbus Community High School and the Iowa Mennonite School competed. The Wildcats shot a 431, placing them fifth in the 13-team field. IMS carded a 484, earning 10th place.
Columbus was led by Kortney Orr and Lizzie Duncan, who both had an 18-hole score of 102. Emily Duncan finished at 107. Sarah Todd shot a 120 to round the out the Wildcat top four. Marissa Hafner completed her round at 129 and Grace Chapman recorded a 133 to complete the Columbus scoring.
Michaela Prihoda set the pace for IMS with her even 100, earning her second-team all-conference honors as she tied for 11th place. Breana Stout shot a 116. Liza Brenneman carded a 128. Abbie DeWild finished the IMS top four with her 140.
Elizabeth Yoder also completed a round for IMS, registering at 145.
The IMS girls will play in district competition at Deerwood Golf Course in New London on Monday, May 19. The Wildcat girls will play at Cedarcrest Country Club in Columbus Junction for districts on Monday as well.
