Columbus trades victories with Pekin

COLUMBUS JUNCTION - The Columbus Community boys’ and girls’ basketball teams hosted the Pekin Panthers on Tuesday, Jan. 21. The boys dropped the Southeast Iowa Super Conference game 81 – 66 and the girls won 46 – 44.
Junior Chase Fink led the way for the Wildcat boys with 28 points. Fink’s classmate Kelsey Pretz scored 21 points to lead the girls.
The loss drops the boys’ record to 3-11 overall, 3-10 in SEISC play. The girls’ record improves to 4-10 overall, 3-10 in conference. Both teams play on Friday, Jan. 24 at the Iowa Mennonite School.
