Connie K. Reed, 67, of Washington, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in the Washington County Hospital in Washington following a lengthy illness.

Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Darryl Carr officiating. Calling hours will begin at 9 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County.

Mrs. Reed was born Aug. 10, 1949, in Washington, the daughter of Burton G. and Helen (Basinger) Fox. She married Roger Reed on Feb. 22, 1975, in Washington

She graduated from Highland High School in 1968. She and her husband moved to their family farm northeast of Washington in 1975. She worked at the McCleery-Cumming Calendar Factory until 1983. She enjoyed helping her husband on the family farm and especially enjoyed assisting with the lambs. She painted toys that her husband built, and sold the toys and produce from the garden at farmers markets. She was proud of their pumpkin patch and was an avid dog lover.

Surviving are her husband, Roger Reed of Washington; one brother, Jerry Fox and wife Marie of North Carolina; her twin sister Bonnie Applegate of Washington, and her sister Linda Hartwig and husband Brad of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother-in-law, Bob Applegate.
