County OKs easement resolutions

Mar 29, 2018

By Xiomara Levsen, The JOURNAL

The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a few resolutions at its meeting Tuesday morning.

The first two resolutions approved were public highway easements from Norman and Marie Shalla, according to Washington County auditor Dan Widmer. They are easements that are being released back to the county by the property owner.

The supervisors also approved a resolution amending the Washington County 2017-18 Five Year Road plan.

Washington County engineer Jacob Thorius would like to start a project before the end of this fiscal year, which was previously planned to begin in the 2018-19 fiscal year, Widmer explained.

The final resolution approved was to show support for Washington County Conservation to apply for a Washington County Riverboat Foundation grant for upgrading the displays at the Washington County Conservation Center, according to the read file.

The supervisors also canvassed the election results from the Washington School Board special election held March 20, received updates from the Washington County Recycling Center and Washington Economic Development Group, and approved three personnel change requests — one from the public health department and the other two from the Washington County Sheriff’s department.
