The Hickory Hill subdivision just north of Washington on Highway 1 was approved by the Washington County Supervisors Tuesday morning.

A public hearing was held before the supervisors approved the subdivision. Washington County subdivision coordinator Kelly Dougall said the subdivision would be located at 2252 Highway 1 in Washington.

“The proposed subdivision is of two lots of 11.59 acres,” she said.

The current use of the property is agricultural but would go to ag-residential, Dougall added. The owners Daniel Paul and John Thomas Weiland want to subdivide the property, so the real estate can go to their heirs and they can build a residence.

“This is within the 2 miles of the City of Washington but according to our 28E agreement they have waived their jurisdiction,” Dougall said.

The application was reviewed and approved by the auditor’s office, environmental administrator, county engineer’s office, the GIS department and subdivision coordinator. Dougall recommended the supervisors approve the minor subdivision.

Supervisor chairman Richard Young asked if there were any other comments during the public hearing. No one spoke up.

The resolution to approve the minor subdision was approved unanimously.

The supervisors also approved a personnel change request for public health, approved the Veterans Affairs quarterly report and the General Assistance quarterly report.
