After a short vacation, the Dorcas group met at the home of Wilma McAllister with 14 ladies present on Monday, June 24. The projects of the day consisted of completing 26 T-shirt dresses, tying two quilts, completing two tops ready to have the backing put on and laying out blocks for four quilts to be sewn together at the next meeting.

While Wilma was on vacation, she and daughter, Chris completed a prayer quilt that was presented to Frieda Finke. All the ladies and Pastor Jason helped hem the quilt as they prayed for her.

The Wyman Community Club met on Monday, July 1, for an 11:30 a.m. luncheon at the Ainsworth Four Corners with 16 present.

Those attending were Al and Adeline Sents, Joann Love and Audrey Finke of Washington; Robert and Lucille Humphreys, Elaine Prom and Frieda Finke of Crawfordsville; John and Betty Wittrig, Laura McPhail and son, Tom, Lorrine Frame and Pat Fricke, all of Winfield; Becky Ross of Iowa City and Kevin Dunsmore of Mount Pleasant. Lorrine served confetti cake to everyone in observance of her birthday.

The group will meet again at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at the Ainsworth Four Corners.

Virginia Sands was hostess to seven members of the White Cloud Club on Tuesday, July 2, in the lounge at the United Church of Crawfordsville.

Pat Miller opened the meeting with by reading “No Nursing Home For Me.”

Roll call was answered by everyone naming their favorite cat's or dog’s name.

The secretary's and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

There will not be a regular meeting in August, but instead there will be a potluck supper at the Crawfordsville ball park Sunday, Aug. 18. Jolene Colthurst, Joyce Huff, Virginia Sands and Carrie Coble are in charge of arrangements.

A club tour in September was discussed with arrangements to be announced later.

Those attending were Pat Miller, Joyce Huff, Frieda Finke, Betty Lintz, Betty Lucas and Julia Bletscher and the hostess.

Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess.

The Youth Fellowship of the United Church of Crawfordsville will go to Sunrise Terrace Nursing Home in Winfield to do the worship service on Wednesday, July 10 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

The United Church of Crawfordsville will have Vacation Bible School, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. July 29 through Aug. 2. All are welcome from 3 years old up to sixth grade. There will be lots of games, crafts, prizes and treats.
