Crawfordsville News

By Billie Jo Rose, Crawfordsville Correspondent | Sep 03, 2013

With this week being so very hot, people stayed close to home and enjoyed their air conditioning. However, several garage sales were held during the week and weekend, including the Fall Rummage Sale at the United Church of Crawfordsville, which once again was a great success. A large crowd is always present with people traveling to Old Thresher’s.

In church news: Any youth who is in seventh through the 12th grade is invited to join Youth Fellowship. The meetings are the first Sunday of each month from 3 to 5 p.m. The Crawfordsville and Ainsworth youth meet jointly the third Sunday of each month from 3 to 5 p.m. If there are five Sundays in the month, a special activity is planned for that meeting.

In order for the Youth Fellowship to continue and be effective, it is necessary for parents or other adults to sign up to be a lesson leader, a team leader and furnish snacks. Pastor Jason will be team leader when the meetings are combined. Leadership will be necessary for the separate meetings. It is required that two adults be present at each meeting. If there are not two adults present at a particular meeting, that meeting will be canceled. Contact Pastor Jason if you have any questions. There are sign-up sheets in the narthex.

Men’s Bible Study will start on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The second study will be Wednesday, Oct. 16. The plan is to have the first Wednesday of the month be from 7 to 8 p.m. and the third Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All the meetings will be in Crawfordsville this year and next year they plan to meet in Ainsworth.

All men of the church and communities are invited. This will be a chance to discuss real issues and learn more about God. Come and be a part of this relaxing time..

Pop and coffee will be available for the asking.

Confirmation classes will be held for youth ages 11-14 and for any other youth who has not been confirmed. The first informational meeting was Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. for parents and youth. Please contact Pastor Jason as soon as possible with names and contact information.
