The regular meeting of Iowa Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society was held at the United Church of Crawfordsville, Monday evening, Nov. 25, 2013.

President Missy Fear called the business meeting to order at 7 p.m.

Following the singing of "Sword of Gold," Marlys Fear provided meditations titled "Thankful for the Thorn."

Twenty-three members answered toll call by naming their favorite comfort food. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The treasurer's report was presented and approved. It will be placed on file for audit.

The president reported the local chapter had received a Merit Award for sending three girls to camp. In all, 491 girls attended camp provided by T.T.T. A letter of regret and resignation was received from one member, along with her pin.

The committee reported that gift cards for the camp girls will be sent over the holidays. The Ways and Means Committee reported the Butter Braid sales went well and that 155 braids were sold. Members will pick up their braids after tonight's meeting. The Auditing Committee of Pat King and Betty Molander reported the treasurer's books are in good order.

It was moved by Marlys and seconded by Pat Miller to send three girls to camp next year. The motion carried. A motion was made by Joan Rodgers and seconded by Pat Miller to send a monetary gift to the National Project Fund. This motion also carried. A committee signup sheet was passed around by the program committee for the next year's meetings. There were no new names to be considered for membership.

The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m. with members repeating the Closing Creed.

Missy thanked the hostesses, Tammy Erwin and Leah Woline. The next meeting will be Feb. 24, 2014.

The members then participated in a spirited bidding war for the many and delicious bazaar items available for auction. Each member furnished two items to be auctioned.

Eight members of the Wyman Community Club met Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, for an 11:30 a.m. luncheon at Ainsworth Four Corners.

Those attending from Washington were Audrey Finke, Jane Kaczinski, Peggy Buffington and Adeline and Al Sents and from Crawfordsville, Pauline Richardson, Frieda Finke and Fern Clang.

Fern treated everyone to gingerbread.

The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 6, at Ainsworth Four Corners.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the Crawfordsville Fire Department's Chili and Potato Soup Supper on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. A freewill offering will be taken.

Christmas caroling will take place on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013. Meet at the church at 4 p.m. to go caroling around town. For those who can't go out in the cold and sing, carols will be sung at the church after a supper of chili and finger food.
