The Joann Love family celebrated Christmas at the United Church of Crawfordsville on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014.

A lunch of soups, sandwiches, relish trays and desserts was enjoyed by all.

Those in attendance were: Joann Love, David Love, Larry and Nancy Love, Sonya, Clyde, Maggie and Audrey Smith, Wesley, Kaitlyn and Lawson Love, Betsy, Jesse and Preston Lasek, Sharon Ryder, Cheryl Ryder and Tyler Byrnes, Matt Ryder, Renee and Don Cue, Loren, Riley, Carson and Campbell Love, Amy, Averie and Mason Ryan, Wilma Vosburg and Don and Ruth Johnston.

A fun game of pass the present was enjoyed by the adults after the children opened their present.

The Crawfordsville Lions met at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13,  at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 12 members and three prospective members, Lance Miller, Craig Koehler and Adam Mitchell present.

President Larry Fletcher opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and also gave the opening prayer.

Following the delicious meal, prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened. In the absence of Secretary Nancy Love, Billie Jo Rose served as secretary pro-tem.

There were no secretary's or treaurer's reports. Treasurer Randy Finke was given a hard time and fined since he had escaped the terrible cold last week by being on a trip to Hawaii. Everyone was quite envious.

The annual Christmas dinner out was discussed, as was the Christmas drawing. Everyone felt the drawing was a big success.

It was mentioned that the annual Pancake and Sausage Supper will be held at the WACO Elementary School on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m.. The meat will be processed at Bud's in Riverside. Hogs will need to be delivered on the afternoon of Jan. 28 or the morning of the 29th.

The Leo Club will be asked to assist the club with setup and serving. Their sponsor, Carole Martins, will be contacted.

Tickets for the supper may be obtained from any Lions member.

Also, the Crawfordsville Community Club is planning a Fun Day in June and asking the Lions' help and participation in that.

A thank-you note was received from Deon Leichty for the pork loin he received at the Christmas drawing.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.

Tail Twister Larry Fletcher entertained with various topics of Trivia.
