The Wyman Community Club met Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, for an 11:30 a.m. luncheon at the Ainsworth Four Corners. Eleven were present, including: John Wittrig and Laura McPhail of Winfield; Robert and Lucille Humphreys, Freida Finke and Ruth Erwin, of Crawfordsville; and Audrey Finke, Al and Adeline Sents, Jane Kaczinsky and Peggy Buffington, of Washington. Robert and Lucille treated everyone to chocolate cake in honor of their birthdays. The group’s next meeting will be Monday, March 3, at 11:30 a.m. at the Ainsworth Four Corners.

Seven members of the White Cloud Club met at the home of Lennis Beichter on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, for their monthly meeting. President Lennis opened the meeting reading the Ten Commandments, Scandinavian Style. Roll call was answered by members telling where they were married. One Mystery Sister gift was given. March 4 will be Date Nite at Xtreme Smokehouse and Grill in Washington at 6:30 p.m.

Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess using the valentine theme. Those present were Julia Bletscher, Jolene Colthurst, Joyce Huff, Betty Lintz, Betty Lucas, Pauline Richardson and the hostess.

Chris and Gina Petersen of Polk City became the parents of a son, Emery Taylor Petersen, born Dec. 4, 2013, at Methodist West in Des Moines. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long. He was welcomed by one sister, Reagen, 6 years old, and brothers Cale, 5 years old, and Drew, 2 years old. Grandparents are Greg and Carol Graber of Crawfordsville, and Dean and Mary Petersen of Audubon. Great-grandparents are Delmar and Alice Nitzsche of West Point, Neb., Dwight and Mary Frances Graber of Washington, and Ernie Petersen of Kimballton.
