Frieda Finke welcomed twin great-grandchildren, Gunner Michael, weighing 4 pounds, 3 ounces and Tynley Elizabeth weighing 3 pounds, 9 ounces on April 18, 2014. Their parents are Jabe and Dana Finke of Winfield.

Darin and Emily Graber of Prairie City became the parents of a daughter, Blakeley Faith on April 28, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She weighed 7 pounds and was 19 1/2 inches long. Blakeley was welcomed by brothers, Garrett, 11; Gabe, 9, Riley, 7 and one sister, Selah, 2 years.

Grandparents are Loren and Sherry Tjernagel of Radcliffe, and Greg and Carol Graber of Crawfordsville. Arlotte Tjernagel of Story City, Delmar and Alice Nitzsche of West Point, Neb., and Dwight and Mary Frances Graber of Washington, are the great-grandparents.

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met at 7 p.m. Monday, April 28, at the Crawfordsville Community Room. Fourteen members were present. President Larry Fletcher called the meeting to order, led the Pledge of Allegiance, and gave the invocation. The minutes of the April 14 meeting were approved as corrected. Treasurer Randy Finke gave his report.

Several items were discussed throughout the course of the meeting. The first May meeting will be held on May 12, at the Crawfordsville Community Room as usual. As Memorial Day falls on the date of the second meeting, the club will meet at the ball park on May 19. It will be a cleanup day. The Lions Club will be providing concessions for the car show which will take place on the church parking lot on June 7. This will count as the first June meeting. The second June meeting will take place at the ball park on June 23. The Lions Club is co-sponsoring the Crawfordsville Community Club's Fun Day, which will take place July 5.

Lion Arvid Anderson gave a brief review of the District Convention that he recently attended . He mentioned that there are 1,330 Lions in this district in 52 clubs. Lion Arvid then presented chevrons of service to Mike Massey for 40 years of service, Larry Fletcher for 50 years, and he received his own chevron for 60 years of service.

At the adjournment of the meeting, during a time of refreshments provided by Craig Koehler and Larry Swailes, Tail Twister Larry Fletcher amused the club with some very old trivia.
