The 92nd Alumni Banquet for Crawfordsville High School was held at the United Church of Crawfordsville on Saturday, June 10. Sixty-eight graduates, teachers and guests were present to enjoy the delicious meal prepared by the “Davis” family and served by members of the United Church of Crawfordsville.

As people gathered to visit in the sanctuary, a video was shown on a large screen. This video was the history of Crawfordsville and was put together by Cleo Dean, Wanda and Steve Cherryholmes.

The theme of the banquet was “Come Home to CHS.” Round tables were used and each table held different yearbooks, pictures and memorabilia from different classes. The school colors of red and white were used throughout the decorating theme. Two tables in the sanctuary held merchandise advertising from former businesses in Crawfordsville. The honored classes (75-70 and 60) had their senior class pictures on display.

Larry Fletcher was the master of ceremonies and led everyone in prayer before the meal. Phyllis Lowe Eisele read correspondence, the minutes of the 2016 gathering and gave the treasury report. Martha Chalupa provided piano music as the group sang the school songs. The group was honored to have Marie Clark Lowe, (Class of 1935) as the oldest member attending and Joe Rupp, (teacher and coach) from 1953-1955 and wife Lynn in attendance. Out-of-state guests were present from the states of California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Texas. Bob Lowe (Class of 1946) traveled the farthest from California. For the first time ever Pat Fisher Owens, Viola Hering Beenblossom and Kenny Beenblossom were unabe to attend, so this broke their perfect attendance records.

Present from the class of 1942 (75 years) Maurice Rose; 1947 (70 years), Cleo Dean Cherryholmes and Andrew Whiting; Class of 1952 (65 years), Calvin Graber and Mary Virginia Twinam Peterson; Present from the class of 1957 ( 60 year class), were Douglas Chalupa, Allaire Davis George, Pauline Grosscup Brown, Jerry Owens and Lyle Williams; From the class of 1962 (55-year class) Linda Lowe Alvine and Elaine Paisley Young.
