Betty Howell Moye of Torrance, California, and daughters, Vickie Backman of San Luis Obispo, California, and Julie Dickerson of Ames, visited relatives in the Crawfordsville and Columbus Junction area last week.

Eleven were present for the 11:30 a.m. meeting of the Wyman Community Club on Labor Day, Sept. 4, at the Ainsworth Four Corners. Those enjoying lunch together were: Wilma Vosburg from Grinnell; Ruth Johnston from Ainsworth; John Wittrig, Laura Wittrig, Tom McPhail and Amy Surber from Winfield; Margaret Patterson, Ruth Erwin, Frieda Finke, Lucille Humphreys and Billie Jo Rose from Crawfordsville.

The club will meet again for lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, at Ainsworth Four Corners.

White Cloud members gathered at the home of Betty Lintz at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5, for coffee and muffins before starting their annual club trip.

First stop was at “Wyman Rustics” at the home of Harold and Pam Humphreys. They feature everything from primitives to antiques and repurposed items — very interesting. Next stop was Boxcar Treasures at Ainsworth Corners. From there they traveled to Riverside to a field where hops are raised for beer making. Next they ate lunch in West Liberty at JP Grub & Pub. After lunch they drove to Wilton to tour the Lorlen Candles, Gifts and Antiques. They enjoyed a treat at the Wilton Candy Kitchen before starting home. Once back home, they stopped at Sells Turtle Farm east of Crawfordsville and David told the group all about raising turtles and even showed them live turtles.

Nine women went on the trip and were chauffeured by Pauline Richardson and Betty Lintz. Others included were Jolene Colthurst, Frieda Finke, Joyce Huff, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Virginia Sands and Shannon Sells.

The next meeting will be an 11:30 a.m. luncheon at Ainsworth Four Corners. There will be an election of officers and Secret Sisters will be revealed.

Remember the Crawfordsville Lions Pancake Breakfast Saturday morning, Sept. 16, at the Crawfordsville Ball Park from 7-9:30 a.m.
