Turning 90 years young on Wednesday, Sept. 13, Wilma McAllister celebrated the occasion with many family members and friends. Including her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Steve Williams of Anamosa, and son, Tom and daughter-in-law Ruth McAllister of Crawfordsville, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A special guest, Sherri McCoy from Red Lake, Ontario, Canada, came especially to celebrate her special day. Wilma and she became acquainted many years ago while vacationing with her daughter and son-in-law at their cabin on the lake.

A reminder that the annual Harvest Supper and Auction at the United Church of Crawfordsville will be held Saturday evening, Oct.28. The supper will be held from 4:30-6:45 p.m., with the auction to begin at 7 p.m. The menu will feature beefburgers and chicken and biscuits, pies and salads, all this for a free-will offering. Be thinking about items you can contribute to the sale. David Erwin will be the auctioneer and he always makes this a fun time!

On Saturday, Nov. 11, a Soup Supper will be held at the church from 4:30-7 p.m. Oyster, chili and potato soup will be on the menu, along with relishes and desserts. This is a free-will offering. Everyone welcome!

For those in our community who remember the Rev. Harlan Winter, former pastor of the United Methodist Church and the United Church of Crawfordsville , he will be observing his 80th birthday Oct. 15. His family would like you to help him celebrate with a card shower. Cards may be sent to Harlan at 3006 SE Turnberry Drive, Ankeny, IA 50021. He would love to hear from all of you.
