The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Feb. 25, at the Crawfordsville Community Room. Fourteen members and one guest, Kristine Williams, were present.

In the absence of President Steve Williams, First Vice President Larry Fletcher called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Nancy Love gave the invocation. The minutes were approved as read and the treasurer’s report was given by Treasurer Randy Finke.

Correspondence: Secretary Nancy read a letter from Al Olson of the Washington Club with regard to the Riverboat Foundation and their generous contribution that covered the entire cost of the digital camera. Al suggested that clubs could donate their pledges to Kidsight. Members agreed to donate a pledge to this cause. Another item of correspondence was from the Iowa Youth Exchange camp which will take place in Madrid, in July. Members agreed to make a donation to this cause.

Old Business: Comments from the Pancake Supper were favorable, although it was noted that the attendance was lower than previous years. The WACO youth did a great job as helpers. As per a request, a contribution has been made to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for a hearing aid for a member of the community.

New Business: The Lions Club will be selling concessions at a car show that will take place at the ball park on June 1.

The meeting then adjourned, at which time delicious refreshments were served by guest Kristine Williams.

The Crawfordsville Fire Department will sponsor a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 6, at the Crawfordsville Fire Station on Main Street from 6 to 11 a.m. This will be a freewill offering and everyone is invited.
