Demons take care of Huskies

Maybe it was the location, but the Washington baseball team certainly looked as if they belonged at Veterans Memorial Stadium last night.
Playing against Highland at the home of the Cedar Rapids Kernels, Washington strung together an impressive 11-1 win over the Huskies on Wednesday night.
The pitching was on the mark for the Demons in the game, as starter Michael Gier picked up the win, throwing four innings and striking out two and giving up the only earned run of the night.
Tanner Knupp pitched two nice innings for Washington, striking out four, with Mason Quigley closing out the
Offensively, Jacob Green picked up three RBIs for the Demons, while Blake Weidman had two hits for Washington.
The Demons will travel to take on Benton in a doubleheader at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
