Department of Agriculture recalls chocolate milk

Sep 23, 2013

WELLMAN—The Iowa Department of Agriculture has a recall on whole chocolate milk from Farmers All Natural Creamery in Wellman, a press release from the department said.
The recall is voluntary with the expiration dates of Oct. 5 and Oct. 7.  It was sold in 32-ounce containers and 64-ounce containers, the press release said. The recall is due to concerns that some of the milk from the facility may not have been properly pasteurized.
It was sold at Fareway stores in Iowa City and North Liberty; Freeman Foods in Wellman; JW’s Foods in Kalona; and United Natural Foods Inc. in Iowa City. All stores have been notified and the milk is being taken off of the shelf. If there are any concerns, people may return the milk to the store they purchased it at or contact Farmers All Natural Creamery at 319-646-2004. These milk products should not be consumed.
