Eagle boys place at Pekin

PEKIN - The Keota High School varsity boys’ track and field team competed in a meet at Pekin High School on Thursday, April 10.
Nate Sieren won the 100-meter dash in 11.43 seconds. Sieren was followed closely by his teammate Ben Horras in the 100 with a time of 11.83, good for second place.  Horras also placed second in the 200-meter dash in 24.3.
Matt Slaughter earned second place in the discus throw at 104 feet. Isaiah Hahn picked up second place in the 800-meter run in 2:34 and third in the 1,600-meter run in 5:43.
The 1,600-meter sprint medley team of Sieren, Jason Ree, Jacob Wickencamp and Luke Lyle got first place with a time of 4:07. The team of Wickencamp, Lyle, Sieren and Horras won the 4x200-meter relay in 1:40.6 and finished second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.74.
The Keota boys’ team will be on the track again on Monday, April 21 at home in the Keota Relays.
