Edith "Edie" Mae Trotter, 98, of Ainsworth, Iowa, died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Halcyon House in Washington.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Kitch Shatzer and Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin at noon Monday, August 14, 2017 at Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth.

Memorials have been established for the Ainsworth Community Church and the James Harlan Thoma Ainsworth American Legion Post 351. Online condolences may be sent for Edie's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.

Edie was born August 31, 1918 in Ainsworth, Iowa, the daughter of David Franklin and Myrla (Moreland) Henderson. She graduated from Ainsworth High School and attended Cedar Rapids Business College for one year. Edie was united in marriage to William Allen Trotter on February 18, 1940 in Ainsworth, Iowa.

Edie grew up and lived in the Ainsworth Community all of her life. She and her husband owned and operated Community Feed for many years, where she was a bookkeeper. They enjoyed traveling together and wintering in Sebring, Florida for 30 years.

She was a member of the Ainsworth Community Church and a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Edie enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Cedar Crest Country Club in Columbus Junction and Sun n' Lakes Country Club in Sebring, Florida. She was very proud of her two holes in one. Her greatest love was her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Edwards and husband Gary of Ft. Myers, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Mary Trotter of Perry, Iowa; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Edie was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen Trotter; son, Thomas H. Trotter; brother, Bob Henderson; and two sisters, Mary Booth and Helen Gamon.
