Extension office offers“Bubble Mania” Day

Jun 21, 2017
Kayce Schnoebelen, Jonathan Schaack, and Tristan Kleopfer from “Bubble Mania” in Riverside work together to produce as many bubbles as they can with one cup of water-soap mixture.

The Washington County Extension Office held a Bubble Mania Day Camp on June 15, 16, and 19.

The day camps were held at Marr Park, Kalona City Park, and Riverside Hall Park. Around 40 children participated in the camps.

Both days contained the same fun, excitement and bubbly experiments. The camp was held for youth who just completed kindergarten and first grade.

The campers became bubble-ologists as they completed several experiments.

They were able to make bubble blowers, blow large and small bubbles, blow up balloons through chemical reactions, and even stood inside a real bubble.

The leader of the camp was Megan Ball, Day Camp Coordinator.

Help was provided by several County Council Members including: Sophie Bell, Ellie Bell, Clara Schmitz Gracie Greiner, Jillian Nafziger, Katie Palmer, Frankie Johnson, Kaitlin Poock, Peyton Cuddeback, Roman Kiefer, Maggie Smith, Leah Marek, and Jenah Greiner.
