Former Golden Hawk receives award

Mid-Prairie graduate and current Coe College Kohawk softball player, Mallory McArtor, was named to the Cedar Rapids, Iowa NCAA All-Region Softball Team for her play this past weekend in the Division III NCAA softball tournament held at Clark Field at Coe College.
As a freshman, McArtor started 45 of 46 games this year, as the Kohawks posted a 36 – 10 overall record, going 11 – 3 in the IIAC and winning the conference title outright. The Kohawks also finished the year ranked 11th nationally in the Division III polls.
Individually, McArtor batted .265 for the year with three doubles, two triples and a home run while stealing six bases. McArtor also posted a 0.903 fielding percentage in her first year of play.
