Foundation grant list

Washington County Riverboat Foundation awarded 46 grants, for a total of $1,632,757, Thursday at the Riverside casino Event Center.

2017 Municipal Grants were awarded to the following: City of Coppock, $800; City of West Chester, $8,800; City of Crawfordsville, $16,000; City of Ainsworth, $34,000; City of Brighton, $39,000; City of Riverside, $60,000; City of Wellman, $85,000; City of Kalona, $142,000; and City of Washington, $438,000.

Other grants were: ARC of S.E. Iowa, $15,000 for preschool for disabled children; Riverside VFW, $1,600 for Honor Guard uniform fund; Sigourney Community Schools, $675 for elementary AED; Tri-Rivers Conservation Foundation, $35,000 for trails; St. James Elementary, $45,083 for electrical and air conditioning; Czech Village Main Street, $6,000 for building improvement fund; Crawfordsville Township Trustees, $5,000 for cemetery fence and stone repair;

Lake Darling Youth Center, $3,200 for security fencing; Highland Community Schools, $15,000 for elementary learning lab; City of Wellman, $9,688 for technology for library; Ss. Peter & Paul Heritage Association, $30,000 for restoration of stained glass; House of Heroes, $10,000 for veterans home improvement; Washington Community Schools, $34,950 for technology lab upgrades; Washington County Domestic Violence, $6,400 for ensuring safety of victims;

Families Helping Families, $13,600 for shoe voucher program; Mid-Prairie Community Schools, $29,570 for instrument replacement; WCDC Inc., $29,800 for fire safety project; Washington County Fair Association, $5,000 for playground at the fairground; Pierce Elementary PTA, $21,446 for playground project; Washington County Pheasants Forever, $15,000 for native seed drill upgrade; WEDG Inc., $32,077 for Pork Producers grilling trailer;

Keota Community Schools, $10,000 for student commons; GIVE Foundation, $10,000 for 11th annual golf tournament; Washington County Historical Society, $16,000 for Conger House windows and doors; City of Wapello, $5,000 for North Park improvements; Highland Community Schools, $36,000 for high efficiency boilers; City of Brighton, $7,500 for thermal imaging camera; Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, $12,500 for K-9 program;

Sigourney Community Schools, $4,000 for metalsmithing and stained glass; Washington County Conservation, $6,810 for Willow Pond enhancement; City of Crawfordsville, $4,445 for playground safety; Washington Community Schools, $30,000 for Chromebooks grades 3 to 8; City of Wellman, $42,938 for shelter and band shell renovations; Kalona First Responders, $7,500 for chest compression system; Mid-Prairie Community Schools, $33,500 for seating for math; City of West Chester, $18,875 for City Hall improvements; and Lone Tree Community Schools, $200,000 for Lone Tree wellness center.
