Fundraising dinner to be held

Oct 26, 2017

The Community Foundation of Washington County (CFWC) will host its Ninth Annual Fundraising Dinner at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Holy Trinity Parish Life Center in Richmond. This year, the community foundation will celebrate its new status as a 501c3 non-profit organization and its new relationship with the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.

This year, the dinner will feature the barbecuetalents of Kevin Kron, of “Flamin’ Flips” in Washington. The focus will be on the food – locally sourced meats, locally prepared side dishes, and a delicious variety of desserts. Revasser Winery from Ainsworth will have wine for sampling and purchase beginning at 5:30 p.m. Les Garner, CEO of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation and former President of Cornell College, will be the featured speaker. He will speak to attendees about “Your Personal Philanthropic Journey.” A special feature this year will be a Dessert Auction, with pies, cakes and special treats donated from area restaurants, bakeries and individuals. These will be auctioned off in a live auction as the final course, the proceeds will benefit the Community Foundation of Washington County.

Tickets may be purchased from any Community Foundation Board member or by calling Don Yoder in Kalona, 319-656-2774, Mary Jane Stumpf in Riverside, 319-648-2174 or Millie Youngquist, 319-653-4673 in Washington. The number of tickets is limited and they need to be purchased by Nov. 6.
