Halcyon House News

Pastor Herb Yoder representing the United Presbyterian Church, provided the weekly service to Halcyon House residents on Sunday. The sermon was titled “Fear Not.” Scripture from Isaiah 41:10 was shared with those in attendance. Dorothy Koehler Yoder shared her talents on the piano with those present.

Ron and Robin Gallagher, son and daughter-in-law of Eva Gallagher enjoyed an early Thanksgiving with his mother, this past week for several days. They returned to their home in West Virginia to prepare for a trip to Jamaica. Ron and Robin will be celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary.

Last week Martha Chabal was in Washington visiting from her home in Columbia, Missouri. Martha and Kathy Otterberg spent Tuesday catching up at the home of Gladys Ferguson. The next day Martha, Kathy and Gladys were joined by Maria See for lunch and then spent the remainder of the day visiting at Kathy’s home. Martha was doing well and looked good.

Mix and Mingle was held on Tuesday in the Applewood Bistro. The monthly event offers complimentary light appetizers for residents. It is an opportunity to meet new neighbors and catch up with old ones. Those in attendance this month included: Mike and Barb Wood, Denny and Connie Sorrell, Fred and Nan Stark, Audrey Stark, Erma Ropp, Dolores Wood, and Betty Osincup.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to the following Halcyon House residents: June Miller and Linda Sturdevant.

Halcyon House residents and team members send out their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Leo McGinnis.
