The weekly church service was provided by, Tim Detweiler representing Immanuel Lutheran Church.

The sermon was titled, “You are God’s Beloved.” Scripture from Psalm 136:1-9; 139:7-17. Andrea Nussbaum shared her musical talents on the piano.

Halcyon House kicked off WesleyLife Week, Friday, July 6 with a complimentary continental breakfast and campus walk.

The Halcyon House dietary department served rolls and muffins with juice and coffee followed by Tom Gaughan, Halcyon House Environmental Services Director discussing the activities planned for the following week.

Halcyon House hosted their second annual Block Party, Monday, July 9.

The evening kicked off with live entertainment provided by the very talented James Crossroads Band. Residents, team members and community members enjoyed yummy pork burgers grilled by the Pork Producers with pasta salad, watermelon, baked beans, potato chips, and a oatmeal raisin cookie for dessert.

Residents shared their passions with their neighbors Tuesday, July 10.

Connie Sorrell displayed her acrylic and water color paintings, Marcella Reed shared her thimble collection, Lois Greiner and Lea Smothers displayed their hand crafted quilts, Sandy Weller displayed a small portion of her button collection, Pete Weller shared a few of his trains and Betty Osincup displayed her paintings.

Linda Sturdevant shared her passion for history by giving a presentation on the Gettysburg Address and Virginia Tschantz played the Baby Grand Piano in the Harvest Room.

The Halcyon House Dietary Team prepared a delicious luncheon for Western Day, Wednesday, July 11. Food and Beverage Director, Tony Forcucci smoked brisket and ribs for the meal.

The dietary team prepared and served, twice baked potato casserole, fresh fruit, cole slaw, and chocolate chip cookie out on the Applewood Bistro Patio.

Bill Chmelar dressed in a cowboy hat and western shirt for the occasion!

The Environmental Services Department hosted the EVS Challenge Thursday, July 12. Residents proved that they had what it takes to be on the EVS Team.

They were challenged to a Plugger Toss, Bed Making, and Nail Driving Contest. Larry Canfield, Marcella Reed, Marvin Sieren and others had a great time showing off their skills!

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Nancy Stark, Fred Stark, Lois Greiner, Bea Johnson, Ruth Bonnell, and Carolyn Kaufman.

The residents and team members of Halcyon House extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ellen Perdock.
