Harold Lee Williams, age 81, of Crawfordsville, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospital following injuries suffered in a fall.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2017, at the United Church of Crawfordsville with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Thursday evening. Interment with military honors will be held at the Crawfordsville Cemetery in Crawfordsville, Iowa. Memorials have been established for the United Church of Crawfordsville or the Crawfordsville Volunteer Fire Department. Harold was born September 2, 1935, in Crawfordsville, Iowa, the son of Howard and Grace (Lyon) Williams. He attended school in Crawfordsville, Iowa, and graduated from Wyman High School in 1954. Harold was united in marriage to Catherine E. Crone on June 9, 1963, in Washington, Iowa.

Harold lived in Crawfordsville for most of his life. He owned and operated Williams Oil Company in Crawfordsville, specializing in transmission repair. Following his retirement he developed the Williams Golf Course in Crawfordsville and operated Williams Lawn Care. He was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville and served in the National Guard for six years. Harold enjoyed fishing, boating, and water skiing. He also enjoyed family vacations in Arkansas and hanging out with family.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Williams of Crawfordsville, IA; son, Mike Williams and wife Jacki of Washington, IA; daughter, Amy Wahlert and husband Jason of Prairie City, IA; 4 grandchildren: Alyk and Grant Williams and Morgan and Kade Wahlert; brother, Bob Williams of Crawfordsville, IA; sister, Marjorie Williams of Conesville, IA; and sister, Fern Bausch and husband Lester of Columbus Junction, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Katy Williams; and brother-in-law, Don Wheymeyer.
