FARMINGTON — Highland picked up its first win of the season on Monday night, going on the road to rout Harmony 59-11.

The Huskies (1-1) led 21-2 after one quarter of play, and then stretched their lead to 43-5 by the halftime break. Highland never gave up more than four points in a quarter defensively.

“Our pressure got to them tonight and caused many turnovers,” said Highland head coach Jody Fink, whose team collected 30 steals. “Our girls did a good job of getting out and running. They took good shots and played hard. It was a good turn-around game.”

Senior Kelsey Doreo scored 12 points to lead a balanced Highland attack. Sophomore Sam Dutton had 10 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots in the contest. Sophomores Chelsey Lampe and Bridget Murphy both scored eight points, and Murphy also had 10 steals in the game. Seniors Paige Wieland and Kassie Vazquez had five thefts apiece.
