Horak competes at state meet

Brennan had a great race. He finished 95th and had one of his best times in his career.

He has had a great season and for him to end it up in Fort Dodge at the state meet is a huge accomplishment.

It was definitely a lot colder up there than what he is used to running in and the atmosphere at State is completely different from any other meet we run at.

The whole 3 miles is lined with people on each side; the crowd really gets into each race and is running all over to watch the runners as much as possible. This was his first experience at state in any sport, so that in itself is overwhelming. He handled everything great and ran a great race.

I have actually been working with Brennan since seventh grade so it has been a lot of fun to watch him grow and improve every season. He has put in a lot of work in the off-season and really started believing in his abilities.

Brennan improved so much this season, he really started getting out stronger toward the middle of the season and from that point on, his times really dropped.

He was able to earn a medal at almost every meet this fall. He also earned all-conference honors for the first time and then had a huge race at districts to qualify for state.

He was the first boy from Washington in 18 years to qualify for state.

He has had a great season and an outstanding career.

He should be extremely proud of everything he has accomplished.
