Huskies blow out 'Cats

RIVERSIDE — Visiting Columbus led Highland 15-12 after one quarter of Friday’s Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division contest, but the Huskies out-scored the Wildcats 41-12 over the next two quarters as they rolled to a 67-42 win.

Senior Jake Hootman scored a season-high 26 points to lead the Huskies (8-5, 6-5 SEISC North), and he also had six steals, five rebounds and three blocked shots in the contest. Senior Talon McFarland added 23 points and four steals, and junior Josh Brase chipped in nine points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Senior Edgar Rodriguez scored 13 points to lead Columbus (0-12, 0-11 SEISC North). Sophomore Chase Finke added eight points, and junior Alex Mincer had seven.
