By David Hotle | Aug 14, 2014

A Washington-based physician has recently entered into a settlement agreement with the Iowa Board of Medicine for charges of failing to provide appropriate obstetrical care to multiple patients between 2005 and 2010.
According to a press release from the board, Dr. Lynette Iles reached a settlement agreement with the board on Aug. 8. According to the press release, the board ordered her to pay a $5,000 civil penalty. The board has also permanently prohibited Iles from practicing obstetrics and placed her on five years’ probation.
The release said Iles was charged Jan. 24. On Feb. 12, Iles completed a probation for a settlement agreement she entered on Feb. 12, 2009. At the time, Iles was charged with failing to provide appropriate chronic pain treatment to multiple patients and failing to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with patients. Iles voluntarily completed over 30 hours of continuing medical education. Iles had also agreed to be monitored by the Iowa Physician Health Program. The board issued Iles a citation and warning and placed her on probation for five years.
