IMS competes in golf triangular

WAPELLO – The Iowa Mennonite School boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed in a triangular with conference opponents Danville and Wapello high schools at Indian Hills Golf and Country Club on Thursday, April 10.
The boys’ team shot a 235, placing them third. The girls were unable to field the qualifying four golfers to place because it was IMS’ spring break.
Tanner Leyden led the way for the IMS boys with his nine-hole total of 49. Roman Slabach had a 58. Ben Miller shot a 63 and Zach Hill a 65. Jacob Bruns finished things up for the boys with his 73.
On the girls’ side, Jess Bender was the meet medalist with her 55. Breana Stout shot a 65 and Elizabeth Yoder finished with a 71.
Drake Brezina shot a 57 as a junior varsity competitor for IMS. The IMS girls will hit the links again on Thursday, April 24 at the Mid-Prairie Tournament and the boys will be in action again on Friday, April 25 at Winfield.
