IMS drops first game

Jun 05, 2014

The Iowa Mennonite softball team couldn’t get the offense going on Wednesday night, dropping its first contest of the year 7-0.
After the first game of the season was washed out due to rain, IMS moved to 0-1, afte the loss to Mediapolis on the road.
Mediapolis scored two runs in the first inning to quickly take the lead, and added runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings to complete the win.
IMS’ Jacayla Litwiller went 2-for-2 at the plate in the game, with IMS’ best chance coming in the third inning when they loaded the bases, but couldn’t bring anyone home.
“We hit the ball well tonight, but were not able to find the holes,” IMS head coach Kim Wood said. “Defensively we were pretty clean for the first game of the season.”
Their next game will be on Thursday evening when they take on Pekin.
