IMS, WACO split boys and girls games

WAYLAND - The Iowa Mennonite School and WACO boys’ and girls’ basketball teams faced off at WACO on Tuesday, Jan. 21 with IMS taking both SEISC games. The boys’ final was 51 – 33 and the girls’ final was 50 – 29.
In the boys’ game, senior Reggie Hostetler led IMS in scoring with 18 and junior Braden Blake had 11 to lead WACO.
In the girls’ game, senior Olivia Yutzy scored 18 to set the pace for IMS and WACO junior Aaliyah Brown had 10 points.
The wins improve the IMS boys’ record to 11-2 overall, 11-1 in conference and the girls’ record to 8-6 overall, 7-6 in conference. The losses drop WACO boys’ record to 4–8 overall, 4-7 in conference and the girls’ record to 5-9 overall, 4-9 in conference.
Both IMS teams will play at home on Friday, Jan. 24 against Columbus Community. The WACO boys and girls will be in action at Mediapolis on Thursday, Jan. 23.
