Jimmie L. Hora, 55, of Nichols, died Thursday, April 27, 2017, in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, in the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Interment will be in Conesville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Hora was born Oct. 14, 1961, in Iowa City, the son of Leo and Mildred (Walker) Hora. He married Elizabeth Suzanne Telford on Oct. 24, 1992. He drove a truck for O’Toole’s for 28 years. He loved to watch NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, planting sweet corn, watching Hawkeyes and San Francisco 49ers football, working and most of all spending time with his children.

Surviving are his wife; children, Sara Hora and Jay Hora, both of Nichols; one grandson on the way; an adopted granddaughter; his mother, of Bennett; siblings, Diane Tinkle of Conesville, Susan Morgan and husband Todd of Muscatine, John Hora and wife Joyce of Columbus Junction, Judy Kauffman and husband Greg of Muscatine, and Bobbie Guill and husband Richard of Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.
