Juanita Mae Graber, age 82, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Calling hours will begin 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church of Washington or Hospice of Washington County. Online condolences may be sent for Juanita’s family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.

Juanita was born November 10, 1934, in Jefferson County, Iowa, the daughter of Archie M. and Marie V. (Hendricks) Christner. She attended Eagle Country School and Mt. Pleasant High School. On April 8, 1952, Juanita was united in marriage to Dwight Junior Graber in Washington, Iowa.

Juanita worked at McCleery Cumming Calendar Factory for many years until her retirement in 2000. She previously worked at Advance Ross Manufacturing, was a cook for the Head Start Program and worked at the Hub Restaurant in Washington. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington. Juanita was an exceptional baker and was known for her wedding cakes. She enjoyed sewing, traveling to toy shows with her husband and spending time outside in her garden and flower beds. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Dusty.

She is survived by son, Jerry Graber and fiance Melody Erbacher of Riverside, Iowa; son, Randy Graber and wife Jerri of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Juanita Wilson and husband Don of Lodi, Wisconsin; daughter Janet Graber of Washington, Iowa; six grandchildren: Pam Venvertlah, Justin Graber, Jacob Graber, Rosetta Hedges, Alicia Mott and Phillip Graber; 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by two sisters; Linda Johnson and husband Don of Bend, Oregon; Sharon Sangahan and husband Steve of Lockridge, Iowa; one sister-in-law; Karen Christner of Lockridge, Iowa; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dwight in 2010; one great granddaughter, Sydney Allen; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Graber; brother, LaVerne Christner and wife Elma; brother, Gerald Christner; and two nephews.
