Library to host piano concert

May 01, 2014

IMS music instructor Josh Tyson and IMS resident piano instructor Susan See will present selections from Camille Saint-Saens' Carnival of the Animals for four hands at the piano. The concert will take place on Thursday, May 8, from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. on the second floor of the Washington Public Library. This is a program for all ages. Roaring lions, clucking chickens, hopping kangaroos, exotic sea creatures, a stubborn donkey, fossils from the past and the famous swan movement will all be represented.

The suite was originally written in 1886, and is most often heard in the orchestral version. This program will be played on the rebuilt 1888 Steinway piano.
